BILL UPDATE: Two Florida lawmakers file measure to recognize abuses at Dozier school

This is the first mention of the bill I have heard of so now is the time to watch closely and see what happens. To intrude in any manner on the ongoing efforts by former Governor Bob Martinez and his staff would be a dire mistake. I have talked to the lawyers and they do not want us to push the process as we have a good chance of obtaining what we have all waited on for so long. If we are denied then, and only then, should we take this fight to a new level. The Florida Cabinet stood behind us when we needed help and I believe they will do the right thing. This is a historic moment for Florida as they did what no other administration had done before. They took the time, funds and effort to pull a great wrong out from Florida's past to see that justice was served, regardless of the passage of nearly sixty years. This could have been "swept under the rug" but the unfolding of events over this eight years in the news may deter this from happening in the future.

Despite the pain this story has made the white house boys face, we are blessed for we have taken a leap of faith, knowing or unaware, that this story is our legacy for the wayward children to come, may their journey be better than ours........R.Straley
